General Implement® Style Guide

Recognizing the need for cohesive branding at General Implement Distributors® (GID), I saw an opportunity to strengthen our brand’s identity and ensure all General Implement outbound marketing efforts were unified in branding and design. Understanding that inconsistent branding could cause confusion and weaken our market position, I proposed creating a comprehensive style guide to standardize every aspect of our brand’s visual and verbal identity.

Through a collaborative process with the division president, vice president, and board members, we developed the GID Style Guide. This detailed document provides guidelines for all branding elements, covering logo placement, color schemes, photography styles, typography, and collateral design. The approval process ensured leadership alignment with the guide’s vision and strategic importance.

A vital feature of the GID Style Guide was integrating the Silver Service® brand, a hallmark of customer satisfaction created for Arnold Machinery. We extended this powerful brand element to General Implement Distributors, making it a crucial part of our identity. The guide outlined how the Silver Service® brand should be represented, ensuring it remained an important symbol of our commitment to excellence.

Moreover, the GID Style Guide streamlined the creation of marketing collateral, ensuring all messaging was aligned with our brand values and presented consistently. The guide led to more effective marketing collateral, amplifying the impact of our messaging.
